We are not communicating here

How do we communicate with each other? Does the level of communication show us what is the value of the relationship(s)?

People do not talk with each other the way they used to. I know this is not always the case, but it feels that in our fast paced world, overly used phrase but appropriate, that having not enough time, desire or the need has stick its way in and the quality of a relationship tends to be downgraded.

A quick hello is not communication. One person sending an email, text, letter or what have you and not getting a reply is not communication. I have said this before and I will say it again, People Need To Be Talk With, Not Talk To.

  1. You’re so right. I’ve had to add another pet peeve to my list. And that is when I’m standing there speaking to someone and their phone signals that a text message has come in and they just MUST answer it…no “excuse me”…their eyes simply fall to the phone in their hand and they start texting away..in the middle of our conversation! I guess I would have better luck if I stood there in front of them and texted to them instead of spoke… Something’s very wrong with this picture!
