Feel good song(s)

I love listening to music; all kinds of music, but they have to have some positive message behind it. Recently this song

has been going through my head. Where Is The Love? by Black Eyed Peas.

A line in the song goes, “Can you practice what you preach . . .” and I thought to myself that is the problem; that this is the issue with a lot of people saying one thing, you know feel good words but then their actions do not back up what they are saying or promoting.

How can you say you want peace, love and harmony and you are out there spouting hatred towards others? How can you turn your eyes away from the bad things that someone you idolizes does? How can some people write and make beautiful music and yet not live out what is in their songs?

Do you believe in what you say you believe?

  1. Yeah, I love that song and I certainly loved that part of the lyrics.

Not many people can practice what they preach let alone doing that 24/7.

That is the challenge all of us have to face in this dualistic set-up of this world. Many sources call it the battle between our Ego and our Higher Self. Is not life a journey of self-mastery? πŸ™‚

Wishing you the very best in 2012 and hope you will post more things that nudge the masses to think about life itself.

    • Life’s a constant renewing of ourselves. We hold no perfection while we try to do the right things, but first we must admit that we’re not doing the right things. Our lips and minds might say one thing, but if our hearts aren’t in it, then there are issues.

As to our higher selves, interesting.

All the best in 2012 as well. Thanks for the drop in and comment. πŸ™‚
