Man Enough To Be A Woman

Are you man enough to be a woman?

I have often heard some people say, “He wouldn’t understand, he’s a man.” “This is a female issue, what would a man know?” “Men aren’t that sensitive like a woman.” And then I wonder to myself, Why should a man take on womanly traits to be sensitive, to be knowledgeable about a female issue and to understand them? Some men know these things by just being that, a man. Sometimes all men are prejudged in one big lump. Never generalize. πŸ™‚

End of my wondering. Tomorrow I make a chocolate cake from scratch. If you read about food poisoning in the news, it was not me. πŸ™‚

Woman Enough To Be A Man

Are you woman enough to be a man?

I have often heard some people questioned, “Can a woman make it in the corporate boardroom?” “Will she be strong/tough enough to be president?” “Does she have what it takes to make it in a male dominated environment?” And then I wonder to myself, Why should a woman take on manly traits to make it in a corporate boardroom, be president or to “make it” in a male dominant environment? Just wondering out loud.

Flashing before you

“Loaf of bread, this is your life!” Remember that from Sesame Street? No. Ah well, are you who you want to be?

Beginnings and Endings

Once upon a time ——————————- The End.

Some people beginnings are good but their endings are bad. Other beginnings are bad but their endings are good. It is not how or where you start your life, it is what your life became at the end of it.

Okonkwo said no

How do you deal with change? What are your emotions and reactions when it happens? For Okonkwo, it was something that he did not want. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, depicts that central character from an African tribe revolting against the change that was brought upon his people.

He believed in his traditions. He believed that things should have remained the same. He was strong, stubborn, bad-tempered, a wife-beater, a man amongst man, fierce and yes, fearful. Would you not be if some people from the outside came to you and said, “This is the way that it’s gonna be now.”

“Okonkwo remembered that tragic year with a old shiver throughout the rest of his life. It always surprised him when he thought of it later that he did not sink under the load of despair. He knew he was a fierce fighter, but that year had been enough to break the heart of a lion.” [That year was a bad farming time.]

“Since I survived that year,” he always said, “I shall survive anything.” He put it down to his inflexible will.

But he did not survive anything; he could not survive change. He killed himself. Change, is it good or bad or, does it depend onΒ  . . .

Not Taking It?

“Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?” Romans 1 vs 21

How many of us take our own advice? The same advice that we give to other people, do we follow?

Was listening to a few people over the weekend and this morning, and I wanted to crawl out my skin. They were filling the air with hot air. Hot air because what they were saying was just to satisfy the ears of those that were listening. They did not mean it. How did I know? Because they turned around and did the complete opposite.

The word steal is in the Bible quote above; how many people are out there stealing the trust of people?
