“People break down into two groups when they experience something lucky. Group number one sees it as more than luck, more than coincidence. They see it as a sign, evidence that there is someone up there, watching out for them. Group number two sees it as just pure luck.”
That was Graham Hess, played by Mel Gibson, in the movie Signs. For me, the movie was flat and not all that interesting, but it had its messages. Faith, do we hold on to it when something terrible happens to us, as in the case of Mr. Hess who lost his wife. Do we believe in the things that we see and do not see?
Perhaps that is how it is in life, we look for signs, clues, anything that will help us to make choices. Some look for it when trying to find romance; if he/she tilts his/her head, smiles, does that mean that he/she likes me? During interviews. Taking tests. Reading the Bible. Anticipating beginning and ending of things.
What signs are you looking for?
Have a lovely, sunflower day. 🙂
