A Good Thorn?

I recently saw a bad, cheesy movie, but it had its good points that made me think. The name of the movie was Bed of Roses, starring Christian Slater and Mary Stuart Masterson.

I am not here to talk about the movie but a line in it that goes, “I really think that they ought to have thorns to balance it out, cause otherwise they are too perfect.”

She was referring to her favorite rose, a pale lavender color. Should our lives have thorns? Should there be pain, trouble and sorrow?  Or should everyday be a fine and dandy affair?

Have a moon morning and a starry night. 🙂

Have a lovely, sunflower day. 🙂

  1. I love Mary Stuart Masterson! I might have to check out the movie, even if it isn’t a four star film. As to thorns… I think they’re an unfortunate necessity. In our human condition, could we learn anything without them?
