Um . . .

“Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He SAVED others; himself he cannot save.” Mark 15 vs 31

That was the point. Jesus did not need rescuing. 🙂

To quote Duckie from the movie Pretty in Pink, “I’m off like a dirty shirt.”

Going to take a Easter Break. Enjoy. Love you all. 🙂

Gosh I hope the balloon does not go up without me. 😉

What Matters Most?

As I sat reading one day while listening to a talk show on the radio in the background, this young man called in. In his voice you could hear his anguish and pain. In his voice, even though he was saying what his plans were for the future, you could hear and sense that he had made up in his mind that there was not going to be a future. And I cried. And I thought. And I questioned.

What matters most?

To hear some people talk about trivial stuff that causes them pain is frustrating. You may be saying but those things may not be trivial to them. Oh compared to more SERIOUS matters, they are.  We have had more suicides in the past years than we ever had before.

What matters most is life. Yes with its bleakness sometimes it still matters. It rained today, and the sky was overcast, well still is, but I know that the sun is going to come out. I know the sun is going to shine again. But I have to WAIT for it.

“The journey is the reward.” Tao saying 🙂

What Is A Poem?

Live words.

“Formula for failure: Try to please everybody.” Herbert B. Swope 🙂

Nothing with dealing with above, but my watermelon plant is pregnant. Here is looking forward to summer. 🙂

I sit here wondering and wandering. The End

“We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results.” Herman Melville 🙂

what do you want/need out of it?

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Eleanor Roosevelt 🙂

Do Me Over?

It was yellow

[My Photo]

We can remake a life, not a human.

“For thous hast possessed my reins; thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139 vs 13-14 🙂

Verse 14 is much quoted by me. Its richness is captivating.

I am thinking about Fix You by Coldplay right now. Love that song.

Does War Equal Peace?

si vis pacem, para bellum – if you want peace, prepare for war

Is that right?

And I am not only referring only to a battlefield where weapons are used.

What about the battles in our lives? The ones where we might be “fighting” against other people. Those who are hellbent in making our lives miserable. Those who want to be a constant thorn in our flesh. What about them?

Do we appease them?

Do we let them have it hoping that that will make them go and stay away?

Do we ignore them and hope that they will see that we are really not interested in a war?

Do we look for allies?

Do we wish for them to bother someone else?

Or do we pray?

How did this question come about? Neville Chamberlain, former prime minister of Britain. His dealings with Hitler.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms. To choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” Victor E. Frankel 🙂

Not Falling In Love

How does one fall in love?

Is it forever, or does it come with interruption(s), moment(s) of reflection(s) of something said or done?

How does one fall out of love?

Do those interruptions lead to hurt that develop into hate?

How does one not fall in love?

Do you guard your heart until you know what it is? Or do you wait until you know that you are ready, ready to accept the one that was “meant” for you?

Or quite frankly, being in love is not your “thing”.

“The inward area is the first place of loss of true Christian life, of true spirituality, and the outward sinful act is the result.” Francis Schaeffer 🙂

Here Is Pointing At You

One should not and cannot live, govern, or act by blame alone.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” Aesop 🙂

Saying Is Not Real

He SAID that he was not a racist, but his ACTIONS declared that he was.

To know what a person really thinks, pay attention not only to what he/she says but also to what he/she does.

“The way you see yourself determines how you respond to life.” Unknown 🙂
