Life’s Traffic Lights

There are times in life where we will have to make stops, slow down, or continue to move on. No matter what, as we live our lives, choices based on the colors of these lights will have to be made.

Another red light has come for this blog, and I want to thank everyone who joined me by reading, commenting, or liking what was written. I greatly appreciate it. 🙂 Thank you so much.

Just a few quotes before I go.

“Your view of life will determine your view of God. Your view of God will determine your view of life.” Pastor Tony Evans

“Better to write for yourself and have no public than write for the public and have no self.” Cyril Vernin Connolly

Make Grammar like a second language. (lesson learned)

“You shall judge of a man by his foes as well as by his friends.” from Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The simple believes every word, but the prudent man looks well to his going.” Proverbs 14 vs 15

“Let us learn to show our friendship for a man when he is alive and not after he is dead.” from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

And remember life is more than learning, enjoy it as well. 🙂

Recipe For Defeating Yourself

1 cup of worthlessness                  2 cups of negativity

1 cup of low self-esteem               1 cup of bitterness

1 cup of doubt                                 1 cup of fear

1/4 tsp of fortitude                         1/4 tsp of perserverance

and a whole lot of “poisonous” ifs

Mix well. Cooking times vary. Bon appetit

But if you are not interested in this recipe, toss this foolishness out and go with one for not defeating yourself. 🙂

“Life is a dance, a movement of rhythms, directions, stumbles, missteps, at times slow and precise, or fast and wild and joyous.” from The Dance by Thelda Bevens 🙂

Bullying Conformity

Under attack

[My photo]

About this photo. When I was out and about one day, I heard this noise up in the air. When I looked up, there was this egret being chased by two birds. It took refuge in a tree, but those birds kept on pestering it. It eventually flew away. And this gave me the idea for this post.

Be yourself some people say . . . and then they go ahead and dictate who that self should be.

Should your actions follow your belief?

Are you what you say, what you do, or what others tell you to do?

Should you drop what you believe in to follow and to please others? To fit into the latest fad?

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” Ephesians 4 vs 14

You have the right to believe what you want, and my gosh, so do others.  No right to teased, coerced, twist, not literally, the arms of others. And this goes for everyone, and I mean everyone. 🙂

Self-?

There are so many selves, which one or ones are you?

Have a lovely, sunflower day. 🙂

Trading in yourself

Do you like who you are? Would you ever trade in yourself for someone else?

Peer pressure got some people doing, saying and believing that who they are is not good enough. That they have to change themselves into something or someone “better”.

If you are passive, become aggressive. If you are not in with the “in crowd”, join them. If you are not following some brain-washed latest fad, begin to follow.  If you are not going with the party-let-us-have-fun crowd, get your fun shoes on. If you suffer from low self-esteem, this is how to get a new you, in just what ever amount of days. I am amazed sometimes that some people see themselves as being not good enough; that they live by the crap from wherever they are hearing, seeing or watching it from. And thus, time to exchange who they are for what the world defines as “something better”.

Who and what defines how you create who you want to be? The covers of magazines? The advice columns in some newspapers? What is on the internet? Some self-help gurus? The Bible? God? Religion? Friends? Entertainers? Blah, blah, blah.

I might not like everything about me, but I like who I am. 🙂 And you?

“Reshaping life! People who can say that have never understood a thing about life—they have never felt its breath, its heartbeat—however much they have seen or done. They look on it as a lump of raw material that needs to be processed by them, to be ennobled by their touch. But life is never a material, a substance to be molded. If you want to know, life is the principle of self-renewal, it is constantly renewing and remaking and changing and transfiguring itself.” from Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak
