Naked Secrets – Read Between The Lines

“A country destroys itself from within, not without,” Joe said as he stood next to his lawyer.

“How do you plead?” the judge asked.

“Not guilty.” With a slight smile on his face, he turned around to face two men that were seated at the back. Dropping his smile, he sang through clenched teeth, “Tell me what you want to hear, Something that will light those ears, I’m sick of the insincere, I’m going to give all my secrets away.”

The men got up and rushed out of the courtroom to their government tagged car. One of them made a call to the red phone. “Sir,” he said, “he got a conscience.”

Lines of song quoted are from Secret by OneRepublic

Mirrored – Read Between The Lines

As he sat on the sofa, Jack listened to Black Flies by Ben Howard. The song flowed through the house like a river heading to its tributary. Hearing his wife’s car pull into the driveway, he got up.

She disgusted him because of the affair that she was having. He knew, even though she thought it was a secret. Luckily for him, he had arrived home before she did. He did his laundry.

The Way It Is?

Are things the way they are because you want them to be or, are they that way because they have to be?

You Complete Me?

While doing some work yesterday, this song that was playing on the CD

caught my attention. Left Outside Alone by Anastacia. Loving it.

If you or I rely on someone else to complete us, then we are in deep trouble. No one should do or be allowed to do that. That person should add to who we are.

And just because a person is single does not mean that he/she is missing something, that he/she is not “whole”. And what does it mean to be whole anyway? Single, very happy and, no cats. Wait, where did I put my pet giraffe? πŸ™‚

Love is not a fairytale.

Have a lovely, sunflower day. πŸ™‚

Ok, stop?

Your hands had a split personality; they were known to caress me, and then tried to kill me.

I made a promise to myself — I broke it. I stayed when I vowed I would go.

Your kisses were sweeter than the acidity of the bruises you gave me; your touch, when it was not burning, awakened the desire for you.

You were the hand that fed me, but I also fed myself. I kept silent.

I was tamed.

But not anymore. Promises are meant to be kept. God knows, this one was meant to be kept.

How many of us vow that we will never do this or that thing, but are not keeping that promise? Not my story above.

Have a moon morning and a starry night. πŸ™‚

Have a lovely, sunflower weekend. πŸ™‚

Do you have a yesterday?

There is a line in a song that I love. It goes, “Yesterday I died, tomorrow’s bleeding.” It is a song by Trading Yesterday, and it is called Shattered.

This makes me think about how people, from time to time, allowed something that happened in the past live in the present. The day before was terrible, and so, the days going forward will be the same. Are they really?

Is life so bad thatΒ  some people have to be stuck in that moment? Is it the problem keeping them there, or is it his/her self? I believe the group’s name says it best. πŸ™‚
